Okay, I know I’m a little late to the party for commenting on this whole 7-year-old dancers video, but I’m actually commenting on the clip of the Early Show discussing it (click on “Launch video player” on this page to see the Early Show clip).  I just find it remarkably ironic that three grown women bemoan these children doing this, but turn around and denigrate the lone man present for suggesting that the original Beyoncé video wasn’t any more tasteful or classy.  ”She’s a grown woman and that’s art”, they say.  Are they really that oblivious?  The gentleman was absolutely right — art shapes culture, and when we celebrate that sexualized video as acceptable art we have little room to wonder what’s happening to the innocence of our children.
