Spolsky gives the pitch. Basically remote-screen-access customer support, super-easy, through any firewall, over any connection. Sounds pretty slick. I know I have family I might use this with, and I can think of several scenarios at work where this might come in handy.

Okay, I’ve been studiously ignoring this project for a while, but you finally made me click on the link and check it out. I do a lot of tech support with my family and friends, and having a VNC that works *through firewalls* would be fantastic.

Any speculation on session or subscription costs?

It’s a day-pass model, so you pay once, you get a day pass to use as much as you want with as many people as you want for 24 hours. Sidepilot.com (an alternate name they’d apparently come up with as a backup) says something about a $10-ish range, which would be consistent with the help-your-Aunt-Marge use case. We’ll see what it looks like when they launch, though.

Oh, Goodie! It would be worth $10 to be able to have you figure out what the blazes is going wrong with my computer. 😉
